Why I Make Photographs
I wander with my camera. I am an observer. I love the elements of luck and chance. Sometimes those elements combine with light, shadows, people and places, resulting in moments where it seems all I have to do is take the photograph.
When all of that comes together, I see stories in the moment. It is those stories I try to capture. But the stories I see are simply my stories. Ansel Adams said, "There are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer." To me, that means the stories I see may not be the stories you see. That's what makes photography wonderful. We can each see a different story in a single photograph.
I invite you to look at these stories. A larger collection of my photographs can be found at www.500px.com/ericfalk1959. If you are interested in any of the photographs I have made, I can be contacted at falk.eric@yahoo.com, or ericfalk@ericfalkphotography.com.
